Mentors will need to bring a connected device (phone, ipad, or computer) to access instructional videos.
Snap The Gap STEM Kits (Base & Music) will be provided for the girls.
PAIR OFF & CATCH UP
Discuss what your mentee explored on JAM.com since last session. What topics did they find interesting and why? Did they participate in any challenges.If possible, take a look together.

PROMPT: When you are building the robo arm today, think about types of tasks that a robotic arm could help with.
DISCUSS/CAREERS: Industrial/Product designers, mechanical engineers, user researchers, electrical engineers, software developers

PROMPT: Think about how you can make adjustments to your robo-arm to serve a different purpose. Try to make some adjustments. Are there other materials you can add to your gripper that would be helpful?
DISCUSS WITH YOUR MENTEE:
Something your mentee knew about the invention beforehand and something new they learned
How they could use this invention for future use or for even bigger invention?
Think of some examples that they have seen this invention in everyday lives (i.e., the claw game at an arcade)
Share what you made and the different ways you can imagine it being used. What are different ways a robo arm could be used to help others?
Make sure you have all the parts shown on the side of the box and put them away in the box for storage.
Note: your mentee will need to deconstruct part or all of her invention.
SUPER IMPORTANT HOMEWORK
Before next session, your mentee should go on JAM, select a topic that sounds interesting, participate in 1 challenge, and upload to the community. You will discuss it next time!
